Is the procedure painful?
Lips are very sensitive areas. As a result, they are made numb by administration of an anaesthetic nerve block and the procedure thereafter is painless.

Is Restylane or Juvederm better for lip augmentation?
The choice of product depends on your existing lip shape and which area of the lip we will be augmenting. In your consultation, I will discuss and recommend the best filler for the type of augmentation we will be doing.

Will I experience significant bruising or swelling?
Every patient is different, but in general I recommend having at least a day or two off from work or important social events in case of some light bruising or swelling. Many patients book to have their lip augmentations on a Friday, hence having until Monday off before resuming work.

What is the cost of a lip augmentation and how long will it last?
The cost is generally around 500 dollars for an augmentation. The effect of the augmentation usually lasts about 8 months, although some patients get a longer duration and some slightly less.

Will my lips look natural?
The aim of a lip augmentation is for the lip to be appropriate to the other facial structures and of course appropriate to one's age. I take great care to keep the underlying unity of proportions between the upper and lower lip and the other facial structures.
